PhD Research Assistantship in aquatic ecology. Project involves using both existing data sets and sampling approaches to address questions about wading bird prey availability in the Everglades.
Qualifications:
Interested candidates should hold a MS degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Fisheries or a related field. Candidates should possess strong quantitative and writing skills, a good sense of curiosity, a demonstrated ability to work well in teams and presentation skills. A background in statistical modeling, avian ecology, wetland ecology, aquatic ecology, or wildlife science is desirable.
Benefits: The candidate will be supported with a Graduate Research Assistantship for at least the first year, including summer (with the potential of continued funding), after which the student is guaranteed a Teaching Assistantship for at least four years. The Research Assistantship includes a $26,000 stipend, a tuition waiver, and benefits. A successful applicant will start in January 2024 as a Research Associate and then transition to Ph.D. student status in Fall 2024 contingent on their acceptance into the Integrative Biology -Environmental Science PhD Program.
