Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Global Correspondent Banking 1870-2000 – Data Analysis University of Oxford Faculty of History, George Street, Oxford JOB OPPORTUNITY: Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Global Correspondent Banking 1870-2000 – Data Analysis | Global Correspondent Banking 1870-2000 (ox.ac.uk) About the role They are seeking a Post-Doctoral Researcher to join the team working on a major 5-year research project, ‘Global Correspondent Banking 1870-2000’, funded by the European Research Council Advanced Grant scheme. The Researcher will join the team from November 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter. The project is led by Professor Catherine R. Schenk at the University of Oxford. The overall objective is to analyse the changing shape of international correspondent banking networks across the 20th century using quantitative and qualitative research methods. Alongside a cohort of three to five Post-Doctoral researchers, the Researcher will be attached to a research stream that will carry out data analysis related to the correspondent banking relationships of international banks from 1870-2000. About you

You will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in a relevant discipline, which may include geography, financial history or another cognate discipline and have demonstrable experience and expertise in advanced statistical methods, programming and geographic/networking software as applied to large datasets (including R, Stata, GIS, network analysis). You will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil, or evidence that a doctorate is close to completion, together with relevant experience. You will have excellent communication and data management skills, a demonstrable capacity for independent research, be capable of managing your own academic research and associated activities, and have previous experience of contributing to publications and/or presentations.
