Graduate Research Assistantship in Entomology THE INSECT ECOLOGY LAB @ KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY
We study plant-insect interactions in human-modified landscapes. In particular, we study how environmental variability influences species interactions, such as herbivory, predation, competition, and pollination, insect behaviour, and insect movement. We use this basic ecological knowledge about environmental variability to better manage insects and plants for sustainable agriculture, invasive species spread, and disease management, and to understand and predict how land-use and climate-change influence biodiversity patterns and the provisioning of ecosystem services such as pest suppression, pollination, and decomposition.
